Zona Deportiva — Playa de San Juan is a municipal sports zone on San Juan beach in Alicante, run by the city's Sports Department (Servicio de Deportes). According to the city website it has 21 beach volleyball or footvolley courts, 3 beach tennis courts, a beach football pitch and 2 beach handball courts. Some courts can be booked (10 for volleyball, 2 for footvolley, 2 for beach tennis and the football pitch), while the rest are free to use. Booking requires registering first as a user with the city's sports department, and Alicante-based clubs can apply for season bookings through the city's online portal.
The area around Restaurante Niza is the busiest hub.
