A tiny pintxos bar right in Tapas Alley, in Benidorm's old town, packed with Spanish locals — an authentic alternative to the touristy places around it. According to its website, it is a Basque tavern that has been running since 1997. Pick your pintxos at the bar, they heat them up, and you eat at a shared table. Besides pintxos there are raciones and montaditos, such as cod al pil pil, txistorra, cod omelette and fried anchovies, plus wine by the glass. Visitors praise the quality of the ingredients but note that the narrow bar gets crowded, and some recent reviews complain about smaller portions and the service.
Guest favourites: pintxos from the counter, octopus (guests rate it above the jamón), with cava, wine or beer. No reservations; small place — best to arrive early. You order at the bar.
