Club de Golf El Plantío is a golf course about 3 km from Alicante on the old Alicante–Elche road, close to the airport. It has 18 holes, par 72 and 6,302 m long, plus a separate 9-hole par-3 course; the club started out in 1993 with nine par-3 holes, and the full 18-hole course has been in play since 2000. The layout runs through Mediterranean vegetation – palms, fig trees and cork oaks – and the back nine is the tougher half, with raised greens and tees and water hazards. Facilities include a two-level driving range, a putting green, individual and group lessons, a restaurant with terraces and an apartment complex. Visitors praise the wide fairways and the clubhouse restaurant, though some reviews point to the uneven condition of the tee boxes and bunkers.
According to reviews, the course can get crowded on busy days and rounds can drag, so it is worth booking a tee time in advance.
