Arena Alicante is a modern sports complex in Playa de San Juan covering more than 26,000 m², over 19,000 m² of which is given over to outdoor sport. It has 6 tennis courts (3 clay and 3 synthetic) and 14 padel courts, 5 of them covered, with a centre court that seats 1,000 spectators. Beyond the courts there are a large and a small pool, a spa, a gym, an indoor cycling studio, a tatami room, a boxing ring, an athletics track and a kids' play area. The club runs sports schools for children and classes for adults, and courts are available to hire. Visitors praise the range of classes and the gym equipment, though some reviews criticise the changing rooms, and individual ones the sauna and the clay courts.
One review notes that parking is hard to find in the afternoons, and another that tennis courts are increasingly difficult to get, so book ahead. According to one visitor, the bike racks are not very secure — lock the frame, not just a wheel.
