Alenda Golf is an 18-hole course in Monforte del Cid, designed by Roland Favrat and set into the surrounding landscape. The front nine has wide fairways lined by thick Mediterranean vegetation where you can use a driver fairly safely, while the back nine is a very different challenge that calls for concentration and accuracy. The 17th is considered the hardest hole: a 392-metre par 4 with a blind uphill tee shot, water on the right and a narrowing fairway. The club has a driving range, a restaurant, a pro shop and a gym. Golfers praise the greens and the friendly staff, while one warns about the big elevation changes and parallel holes where you need to watch out for other players.
About half an hour by car from Alicante, towards Monforte del Cid.
